The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human

As a big fan of the work of Ray Bradbury, I’m a huge sucker for stories that focus on the demise of humanity. Some of the most influential stories in my life have told of humanity’s hubris, violence, and natural bent toward abusive civilizations (e.g. Brave New World, There Will Come Soft Rains, The Veldt, 1984, Fahrenheit 451). Each story is just plausible enough to be disturbing, etching out the details of the potential for our self-destruction. The team at YCJY Games captured my attention in a similar way while capitalizing on my love of lore discovery.

Every block of space in The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human tells part of a story; our story. How humanity reached a state of critical failure and was forced to live underwater while fighting the fruits of their pollution, greed, and parasitic nature. Our largest fear of AI is writ large as we uncover fragments of the last, dwindling years of human dominance. This is an important story that has been told and retold using various abusive constructs in both societies and civilization as a whole. In my opinion, YCJY games did a fantastic job of portraying this story in an interactive fashion that encourages curiosity and reflection.

With nothing but your own trusty sub, venture into the depths and find the truth behind our extinction for yourself in The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human. Be warned, traversing this landscape isn’t as easy as it first seems.
