Wholesome Games, our favorite place to find charming, low-stress games, partnered up with Serenity Forge (the developers of Neversong and The King’s Bird) to bring us a tasty indie snack! Consider this like a mini Direct, where games are showcased and talked about, but there are no formal sponsors, no catches, just good, wholesome fun.
Here are the games featured in today’s amuse bouche:
Pupperazzi
To all our fellow dog lovers out there with photo libraries dominated by their furry friends, this game is for you. Developed by Sundae Month and published by Kitfox Games, step behind the camera and capture all the cutest, silliest, most bestest pupper moments!
Wishlist Pupperazzi on Steam for updates between now and launch day.
Snacko
It’s everything you love about casual farming sims, but with one catch - you’re a cat! Recently successfully funded on Kickstarter, Snacko is a stylized, pixelated adventure. Make friends with the other animal residents in your village, design and customize space both indoors and outside, and fill your Island Cultural Center with awe-inspiring art!
Wishlist Snacko on Steam so you never miss any tasty tidbits about their release window.
Garden Story
Since their feature in the Wholesome Direct, developer team Rose City Games has moved the launch window for Garden Story to 2021 so players can enjoy even more fruity friends and in-game content. All this is made possible thanks to a new funding partner, Kowloon Nights, an indie-centric games fund helping out a few other Wholesome Games titles.
Garden Story will be participating in the Indie Arena Booth at the end of August and hosting multiple events throughout that weekend.
Try the demo and wishlist Garden Story on Steam for more updates as development continues.
Lonesome Village
From developer studio OgrePixel, Lonesome Village is a puzzle-solving adventure with social elements. As villagers disappear, it’s up to you to uncover the mystery and plumb the depths of some tricky dungeons.
Play the demo on Itch.io and watch for their upcoming Kickstarter campaign.
Lemon Cake
Solo developer Èloïse Laroche is working on the cutest farm-to-table bakery simulation game. Grow your own berries for pastry filling and raise animals like cows and chickens for essential baking ingredients. Use wood fire ovens to bake the most delectable treats for your customers!
Wishlist Lemon Cake on Steam so you never miss a single crumb of sweet info.
Button City
Meet The Fluff Squad. Full of quirky characters and big personalities, Button City is a low-poly narrative about teamwork and community. Work together to save the arcade from a greedy development tycoon in between rounds of party arcade games. Does summer get any better than this?
